AWANA Clubs - Wednesdays at 6:30pm
But fun is only the start. While kids are having a blast; they're learning about Jesus and growing in their faith, too. They learn Bible verses and spiritual truths. They encounter life lessons that feed their soul. They participate in games and activities that train their bodies. Parents quickly discover that AWANA is a fun approach to making the Bible alive and relevant with caring trained leaders who invest time, love and wisdom into shaping children's lives. This cool kids’ program is for:
A weekly adventure! We are excited to offer this midweek program to our children and to families in our community. AWANA is a fun approach to making the Bible alive and relevant to children in Preschool through Grade 5. They will memorize scripture, receive a weekly practical Bible lesson and participate in team building games in a fun, loving environment. The boys' and girls' clubs meet separately so we can minister effectively to their unique needs. Four segments provide start to finish excitement in every club meeting. Opening Time Kids meet in the PBC Auditorium at the beginning of each AWANA night to learn and sing songs about God and His grace. It’s a time to focus why we have AWANA, “to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.” Handbook Time Kids work one-on-one in small groups with a trained leader to recite verses they memorized. Leaders talk with children to ensure they understand key Bible verses that teach them how to know and follow God. Awards are given in recognition to children who have completed sections in their handbooks. Council Time Each club comes together to hear an age-appropriate Bible story to learn about character traits that honor God. Game Time Children learn teamwork and sportsmanship in team competition in the AWANA Games Circle. When is AWANA? AWANA meets on Wednesday nights throughout the school year 6:30-8:00pm. Parent Involvement: PBC wants every parent to be involved in our club. We want to enrich your time with your child. When you register your child, you will be asked to participate in a significant way. Here are some ways to become involved: Leaders: Listens to the children recite verses. Builds intentional relationships with the children in a small group environment. Others can also help specifically during Handbook time with memorization. Hospitality Team: Weekly check-in Child care: Take care of volunteers' younger children A Secure Environment: For the safety and protection of our children we require Volunteers to go through background and reference checks.
