The Warning of Falling Away
In the book of Hebrews (6:4-12), we find people in the church who switched from following Jesus to something else. When trials or persecutions or difficulties came their way, some walked away from Jesus and rejected Him. These individuals knew the truth about Jesus and even shared in the blessings of God, “tasted the heavenly gift.”
The author of Hebrews uses these people as a warning for us to genuinely believe in Jesus – that He is greater than anyone else and anything else.
