Serve Our Community

Regardless of experience, training, or skills, there is at least one opportunity for every person to engage the East Plano community and surrounding area. In 1 Peter 4:10, the apostle said, “each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” For more information about any of these opportunities to serve, contact the church office.

East Plano Pine Cove Base Camp

Pine Cove Camp is a inter-denominational ministry that has camps in Tyler and Columbus Tx. Base Camp is Pine Cove Camps on the road. It's a 5-day Camp experience with a focus on having fun and introducing kids to Jesus Christ!  Pine Cove comes with their staff and stuff, then bases themselves in a neighborhood to run a camp. This summer, Pine Cove will base themselves right here in East Plano, August 6-10, 2012.

PlanoBibleChapel is partnering with other area churches to place a Pine Cove Base Camp Day camp at Forman Elementary in a low-income area of East Plano. The cost of the camp is only $250 per child.

However, many of the kids in this area cannot afford to go camp so we want to scholarship as many kids as we can who, otherwise, could never afford to go to a Christian camp. In addition, since over 70% of the kids from the area are on the free lunch program, we want to provide them free meals all week long.

We hope to give each child an experience they will never forget! Click here for much more information and videos.

Love Where You Live

Love Where You Live is an ongoing partnership with the City of Plano, several local churches, the Plano Council of PTAs, and various community groups to revitalize East Plano neighborhoods "by demonstrating that acts of kindness bring people together, thus strengthening the community."

PBC participated in Home Projects (minor repair, lanscaping, painting, etc.) on Saturday, April 28 in the Meadows Neighborhood centered between Shiloh & Jupiter and 14th &18th Streets.

Later that afternoon on April 28 at Foreman Elementary, from 4:00-6:00pm, PBC helped to host a Street Fair and Block Party with bounce houses, games, and food.  Click Love Where You Live Recap for more...

Mentoring in Local Schools

PlanoBibleChapel is partnering with other local churches to provide Role Models and Mentors to our neighborhood elementary school children (Dooley, Forman, Meadows, Memorial, and Mendenhall). We also have mentors serving at Armstrong Middle School and McMillen High School. More and more children in our community are in need of a positive example of a loving adult who cares for them enough to be a friend and a help with academics, relationships, and their worldview.

The focus for mentors is more of the buddy/role model than academic tutor.  Of course, academics may come up naturally, but we'd mainly like you to focus on the relationship with the child.  Doing something special like having a guest for lunch/breakfast once a week and doing some fun activities will make their time with you even more fantastic! Mentors select a lunch or breakfast time to be with their child.  This should take care of the working parents that want to mentor first thing in the morning.  The Breakfast Buddy would spend their time with their child as early as 7:15, Lunch Buddies would come during the child's lunch period, and are welcome to stay for the 30 minute lunch period and the additional recess time if they'd like a full hour.

Please contact Larry Murray (972.423.5321) for more info about stepping up as a Role Model to a child who needs a friend and a godly example of a believer in Christ. He will get you connected with the local coordinator for each elementary, middle, or high school.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry assists those members who have a need for food as donations allow. We have a rotating team who shop for fresh food, load up donated dry goods, and deliver the food gifts. Donations are accepted throughout the year and, periodically, there is a food drive to restock the pantry.

Prison Ministry

PBC and Bill Glass Prison Ministries teams together in visiting Texas prisons bringing inmates the message of the gospel in a way like no other ministry on prison_ministryEarth.

Athletes, entertainers and musicians bring their testimony of salvation through Jesus Christ in an non-stop stunt and music-driven evangelism event for either a Friday-Saturday weekend or a single Saturday event.  Through this event, these performers will present their talents along with their testimony.  This talent will establish the credibility that goes along with their portrayal of the gospel message.

Following a gospel presentation, PBC volunteers engage inmates in a dialogue about the gospel and how it impacts their life.

Register now for the D/FW Day of Champions for Youth, July 14, 2012. Click here for upcoming Texas events.

Fingernails and Fellowship

On Mondays at 10:00am, we encourage the residents of Plano’s Heritage Park Nursing Home by sharing the things of Christ in message, songs and loving deeds.

ESL Classes

ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered free of charge during the school year at PBC. Although some knowledge of Spanish is helpful, it’s not necessary. Classes are available for beginners and intermediate learners. We need more child-care workers* to allow more parents to attend the classes.

*All of our children’s ministry workers are required to undergo a background check for security reasons.
