What To Expect
At PlanoBibleChapel, we want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people, and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of PBC, but most of all we want you to see Jesus living through His people and experience the power of His grace, mercy and love.
And we know that your first time at a new place raises a few questions: How do I get there… what should I wear… what’s available for my kids…? Here is a quick look at what you can expect when you join us this Sunday morning.
What time are your Sunday services?
Our main Worship Service is at 11:00am on Sunday. At 9:30am, we have Life Connection Classes for adults as well as ministries for children and junior high (OneWay) and high school (CrossWalk) students.
Spanish Services at 11:00 am.
Do I need to bring anything?
You may want to bring a Bible in order to follow along with the message, and a pencil or pen if you want to take notes that are typically found in the weekly bulletin. Any modern Bible translation will be great to bring. Our pastor typically uses the Holman Christian Standard Version (HCSB).
What are the services like?
Most of our services incorporate singing, prayer, a message, and an offering to the Lord. We also often incorporate drama, video, and special music. Each week during the 11:00am service we celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) by serving the Bread and the Cup as symbols of Christ’s sacrificial, atoning death in our place (2 Corinthians 5:15, 21). We participate with only a bite and a sip to remind us that this celebration is just a foretaste of what’s to come when we see Jesus face to face in heaven and live with Him there (Revelation 21:3-4).
Our pastors, elders, and other godly men bring powerful, inspiring messages direct from God’s Word. Each week the message relates God’s Word to our daily lives, at times comforting and at other times convicting. Our hope is that you leave changed by the power of God speaking to you through His Word.
Where should I go once inside the building?
Look for the “Main Entrance” signs each side of our largest building. Once inside, you’ll find friendly people to direct you to the right place. Feel free to mingle with others once inside our commons area, visit our Information Table for a welcome packet, or prepare your heart for worship in our auditorium.
Every Sunday morning, we have a special time for fellowship while enjoying free coffee, tea, and/or hot chocolate from 10:30-11:00am.
Where do I park?
There are designated guest parking spaces especially for you as you enter the north parking lot (closest to Bob Woodruff Park) off of Shiloh Road. Our friendly greeters will welcome you and help to direct you to the main audiorium, children’s building, or youth buildings.
How Should I Dress?
Dress the way you feel most comfortable. Some people will wear jeans and very casual clothing; others may wear dresses and suits. Truly, come as you are or how you are most comfortable.
What is the music like?
Our worship team enables us to worship God for all that He is and for all that He has done for us.
The songs are blended with contemporary praise anthems and the best of classical hymns that reflect our multi-generational congregation and allow everyone to participate in worshiping our great God. Visit our Worship Arts page for more information.
Where do the kids go?
On Sunday mornings, PlanoBibleChapel has a wonderful program for our kids. While the parents are enjoying the Life Connection Classes at 9:30am and the Worship Service at 11:00am, the kids are learning about God from stories and lessons appropriate for their age level.
At 9:30am, Children’s Sunday School is offered to children ages 3 through Grade 5. We want your children to experience the person and character of Jesus Christ. Your children will experience Christ through stories, crafts, song and small group experiences designed to introduce them to our Savior. Expect a lot of fun and learning! They learn to praise God together during a sing time from 10:30 -10:50am. Parents, please pick your child(ren) up after sing time at 10:50am.
At 11:00am, Kindergarten – 5th graders enjoy worshiping in the main auditorium with their families. Prior to the sermon, K – 5th grade children will be dismissed to Children’s Church for an age appropriate message and activity.
For infants and toddlers (0 – 2), a nursery is provided beginning at 9:15am. As children are enrolled, adults will receive an ID badge and a pager that will allow you to know if you are needed. Those items will later show that you have the authority to pick your child up. Feel free to stay for a few minutes to ask the teacher questions and see what they will be studying that particular day.
If this is your first visit, someone will help direct you to the age-appropriate room for your child. Our greeters will show you where to take your child and pick them up later.
What about teenagers?
At 9:30am, OneWay students (Grades 6, 7 & 8) meet in the Youth Annex on the northeastern side of our campus and CrossWalk students (Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12) meet in the Youth Building on the northern-most building adjacent to Bob Woodruff Park.
At 11:00am, all youth students attend the Worship Service in the Auditorium. Visit our OneWay page for other events and activities for PBC junior high students, and visit our CrossWalk page for other events and activities for PBC senior high students.
