From the very early days in the life of the people of God, even in the OT, preaching took the form of a commentary on the sacred text of Scripture. For almost 50 years, PlanoBibleChapel has highlighted and emphasized the preaching of the Bible to transform lives. The reason we preach and teach the Bible is to stimulate faith that results in changed lives so that either the way we are thinking or feeling or acting is either different or enhanced and encouraged by what we hear in each sermon with the ultimate goal of God being glorified.
In the book of Acts, on the day of Pentecost, we see the public preaching of God’s Word was essential for the Church and resulted in changed lives (Acts 2:14-40). Even today, that’s what preaching is about: changed lives to God’s glory.
