“How can I discover God’s will for my life?” “How can I be sure of God’s guidance in my decisions?” “God, what do you want me to do?” “What should I ask and how should I pray?” Practically all followers of Jesus have asked questions like these, especially at critical decision points in their lives.

In the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), teaching His disciples about the coming Kingdom of God, Jesus said to them: “You should pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, Your name be honored as holy.  Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” Jesus taught His disciples to talk with our Father about anything, anywhere, at any time. But specifically, we are to pray for God’s Kingdom and God’s will to be accomplished in our lives here on Earth until He comes for us or calls us to our Eternal home.
