God’s grace leads to a life of good works. Good works in the church. Good works in our relationships. Good works in our world. That’s the message at the heart of the Paul’s letter to Titus.

Paul left Titus on Crete, a large island off the coast of Greece, to re-establish order among a network of house churches there.   Since the Good News about Jesus reached Crete (see Acts 2:11), the churches came under the influence of corrupt leaders who said they were Christians, but were ruining the churches and their reputation in the community.

Nowhere else does Paul more forcefully urge the connection between the truth of the Good News about Jesus and good works among His followers. Grace leads to good works.
