The Bible is filled with examples of divine deliverance: Noah, Joseph, Moses and the Israelites from Egypt, David from Saul, and many more. Our God is a saving God, a God of deliverance. When we come to Acts 5, we have the account of two great deliverances – the deliverance of the apostles from their incarceration in a Jerusalem jail and from certain death at the hands of the religious leaders.

Like the early church in the book of Acts, God has a plan for our trials and a purpose for our troubles as we boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
