Prayer for Forgiveness
Fear often keeps us from dealing with reality and relationships, doesn’t it? Studies show that most people fear going to the dentist. So, when a tooth starts to hurt, what do we do? We procrastinate. We become paralyzed. We pretend the problem and pain will just go away. As human beings want to avoid certain truths because of the fear of what it might cost or the fear of what it might require of us. Many escape through busyness or and others thru addictions. We run. We hide. Even when we know that someday we’re going to have to deal with a problem or problems. We’d rather just ignore it and cover it up.
That’s why we need to talk about a significant problem that is neither politically correct or personally comfortable: SIN. Rather than hiding, covering, or ignore it, we need to admit it personally, address it specifically, and ask forgiveness for it.
