Following Jesus AFTER the Resurrection

by Larry Murray | Following JESUS to the Cross

What does it look like to follow Jesus? After His resurrection and appearance to the Disciples, Jesus had one final lesson (John 21:15-22). Jesus focused His teaching on Peter, but clearly He wanted all disciples to view Peter as their representative.  We can imagine the conversation between Jesus and Peter as they walked along the shore, with John within earshot close behind.

Jesus’ conversation with Peter was personal, relational. And as He prepared to return to Heaven, He gave Peter and the disciples a clear responsibility: loving Him and loving others. A personal relationship with Jesus comes with personal responsibilities.
