Happy Independence Day, USA! As we celebrate our nation's 244th Birthday, we rejoice in our freedom to worship the Lord Jesus and follow Him by faith. We rest in the liberty provided by the sacrifices of men and women in our military and our first responders. We pray for our country's leaders at all levels of government and influence that they would lead with wisdom & truth, pursue justice for all, and serve with humility. We lament that there are still injustices and inequalities experienced by many. We ask Him to heal the division, disunity, and difficulties of our country. We thank God for the United States of America - the land where we live and the people whom we love!

"First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Governor Greg Abbott today issued an Executive Order requiring all Texans to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces in counties with 20 or more positive COVID-19 cases, with churches being one of the few exceptions. Face coverings are not required for those attending worship services, but wearing one is strongly encouraged by the Governor and by PBC to prevent the spread of the virus to others.
